INTRODUCTION AND PURPOSE Locumfix is a “data controller”. This means that we are responsible for deciding how we hold and use personal information about you and to protect your privacy. You are being shown this privacy notice because you are applying for work with us (whether as an employee, worker or sub-contractor). It makes you aware of how and why your personal data will be used, namely for the purposes of the recruitment exercise, and how long it will usually be retained for. It provides you with certain information that must be provided under the General Data Protection Regulation Act, 1960 (C.A.6) or the State Lands Act, 1962 (Act 125)
DATA PROTECTION PRINCIPLES
Locumfix will comply with data protection law and principles, which means that your data will be:
• used lawfully, fairly and in a transparent way
• collected only for valid purposes that we have clearly explained to you and not used in any way that is incompatible with those purposes
• relevant to the purposes we have told you about and limited only to those purposes
• accurate and kept up to date
• kept only as long as necessary for the purposes we have told you about and
• kept securely
Background Check and Identity Verification: We collect background check and identity verification information for professionals. This information may be collected by an authorized person on Locumfix behalf.
HOW IS YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION COLLECTED?
We collect personal information about candidates from the following sources:
• you, the candidate
• The portal from which we collect data similar to that specified above
• background check providers from whom we collect details of allegations and or criminal convictions, if any, for fraud, bribery and corruption, money laundering, terrorism financing and other criminal behavior
• your named referees
HOW WE WILL USE INFORMATION ABOUT YOU
Only the relevant persons required to fill open positions within OPM have access to your stored data. We will use the personal information we collect about you to:
• assess your skills, qualifications, and suitability for the work;
• carry out background and reference checks, where applicable;
• communicate with you about the recruitment process;
• keep records related to our hiring processes; and
• comply with legal or regulatory requirements.
It is in our legitimate interests to decide whether to appoint you to work since it would be beneficial to our business to appoint someone to that work. We also need to process your personal information to decide whether to enter into a contract of employment or services with you
Security: We use personal data to help maintain the security and integrity of our services and users.
Customer support: We use collected data to investigate and address user concerns; and to monitor and improve our customer support responses and processes. Research and Development: We may use the data we collect for testing, research, analysis, product development and machine learning to improve the user interface and experience.
This helps us to improve and enhance the safety and security of our services, improve our ability to prevent the use of our services for illegal or improper purposes, develop new features and products and facilitate insurance and finance solutions in connection with our services.
Enabling communications between users. Marketing: Locumfix may use the data we collect to market our services to our users; including sending users communications about features, news, updates and events. We may use the data we collect to personalize the marketing communication (including advertisements) that we send, including based on user location, past use of locumfix’s services and user preferences and settings.
Non-marketing communications: We may use that data we collect to generate and provide users with transaction summaries, invoices and receipts, inform them of changes to our terms, services or policies, or send other communications that are not for the purpose of marketing the services or products of Locumfix or its partners.
Legal Proceedings and Requirements: We may use the personal data we collect to investigate or address claims or disputes relating to use of Locumfix’s services, or as otherwise allowed by applicable law, or as requested by regulators, government entities and official inquiries.
